About Me

Hey, I’m Lolly — a UK food and travel writer creating beautiful, useful stories around where to eat, where to stay and where to wander next.

Hey Lolly is where food, travel and everyday inspiration meet — from restaurant reviews and food-led travel guides to recipes, boutique stays and the kind of little luxuries that make life feel more delicious.

I write for people who plan their trips around lunch, remember a city by what they ate there, and believe a great table, a thoughtful stay or a perfectly timed glass of wine can become part of the whole story.

A little more about me

By day, I work in digital marketing. By night, I’m usually thinking about what to cook, where to eat or where to go next.

Hey Lolly began as a place to collect the things I genuinely love: food that feels comforting or clever, places that stay with you, restaurants with atmosphere, hotels with charm, and travel that feels less rushed and more savoured.

It is part food journal, part travel diary, part editorial guide — written with warmth, curiosity and a very real appreciation for the details. The lighting. The menu. The setting. The service. The sauce. The view from the table. The moment you know somewhere is going to be remembered.

What Hey Lolly is about

Food, travel and recommendations people actually want to save.

Hey Lolly is built around useful, beautiful and atmospheric content — the kind readers can discover through Google, save on Pinterest, share with friends and come back to when they are ready to book, visit or cook.

The woman behind Hey Lolly

Some places are remembered in flavour, others in feeling. The best ones are both.

Hey Lolly started, really, with the way certain places stay with you. Not just the food, although there is usually food. Not just the view, although I am very easily won over by a beautiful one. It was the feeling of arriving somewhere and noticing the details before I had even taken a bite — the light in the room, the warmth of the welcome, the way the menu made me want to order everything, the quiet theatre of a table being set properly.

I have always been the person who remembers a trip by what we ate, where we sat, the dish we talked about afterwards, the hotel that felt like a little world of its own, or the restaurant that made an ordinary evening feel unexpectedly special. Hey Lolly became a place to collect those moments and turn them into stories — thoughtful, atmospheric, useful pieces that help other people find places worth seeking out.

And because I come from a digital marketing background, I know how to make those stories work beyond the moment. The writing still has to feel personal, warm and human, but it also needs to have shape, purpose and longevity — the kind of content that feels beautiful to read and continues to live online with intention.

Work with me

For restaurants, hotels, PRs, food brands and travel experiences.

I work with restaurants, hotels, food brands, destinations and curated experiences that care about how they are seen and remembered — creating editorial stories shaped around atmosphere, taste, detail and a genuine sense of place.

Hey Lolly is drawn to places with presence — beautifully considered menus, atmospheric hotels, confident new openings, slow-travel destinations and experiences with a genuine point of difference. Features are written to capture more than the facts: the mood, the detail, the setting, the service and the quiet reasons people decide somewhere is worth seeking out.

Good to know

All features are written honestly, with a focus on atmosphere, food, setting and the full experience. Complimentary visits, gifted items or hosted experiences will always be disclosed where relevant.

Why Hey Lolly content works harder

Beautiful stories, shaped around Google, search intent and long-term discovery.

Hey Lolly features are created for places that deserve more than a passing mention. They are written with care, taste and intention — the kind of content that feels beautiful to read, useful to return to and considered enough to sit alongside the experience itself.

I’m interested in the feeling of a place as much as the facts. The mood of the room. The story behind the menu. The detail that makes a stay feel special. The reason someone would tell a friend, save the post, book the table or plan the trip.

With over 15 years of blogging, writing and creating online, I understand how to shape stories that feel personal, polished and memorable — not disposable. Hey Lolly is for restaurants, hotels, destinations and brands who care about how they are seen, how they are remembered and how their story lives online.

Search intent-led

Stories are shaped around what people want to know before they book, visit, eat or travel.

Evergreen by design

Editorial, not robotic

The writing feels personal, atmospheric and worth reading — never flat or forgettable.
