It’s messy, saucy, and exactly what Shakshuka should be. Toast required. Manners optional. Recipe below 👇 Shakshuka for 4 Ingredients: • 2 tbsp olive oil • 1 onion, sliced • 1 red pepper, sliced • 3 garlic cloves, chopped • 1 fresh red chilli (or ½–1 tsp chilli flakes) • 1 tsp cumin • 1 tsp smoked paprika • ½ tsp ground coriander (optional) • 2 x 400g chopped tomatoes • 1 tbsp tomato purée • 120ml water or stock • 1 tsp sugar • Salt + black pepper • 6 eggs • Fresh parsley or coriander • Feta (optional) • Bread to serve (crusty is best) To make it 👉 Heat olive oil in a wide pan. Add onion + red pepper and soften for 6–8 mins. 👉 Stir in garlic + chilli for 1 min. 👉 Add cumin, paprika + coriander. Toast 30 secs until fragrant. 👉 Pour in tomatoes, tomato purée, water/stock + sugar. Season well. Simmer 10–12 mins until thick and glossy. 👉 Make 6 little wells and crack an egg into each. 👉 Lid on, low heat, 6–9 mins until yolks are just set (runny = joy). 👉 Finish with herbs, feta, pepper. 👉 Serve immediately with warm bread for dunking #shakshuka #shakshukaeggs #brunch
